Have to exit to desktop and restart game to fix it. If you ALT TAB out you will lose all game sounds but the music will still play. And where are traffic signals? Didn't they have signals then? They are also dumb and will let you shoot them in the head at point blank range without doing much as long as there is some type of obstacle between you and them. You have to do this every time you stop moving. Next time you press W he will be running and you have to press Caps Lock to get him to walk again. Walking resets when you stop pressing W to go forward. I really don't know what's going on, it's like the default controls are hard-wired into the game and you can't actually override them, just layer different controls on top of them. Maybe it's just me, I'll try validating the game files and see if that fixes it. What's even the point in allowing players to customize keybinds if the function doesn't even work? I already can't use my customary 3rd person shooter control scheme because this engine is too dumb to allow extra mouse button inputs, so I at least expect to be able to change it to something decently comfortable even if I have to use the keyboard for melee and grenades. So basically my choices are to either use the default controls, which I hate, or to buy a controller. config's, thinking that maybe for some dumb reason there's two of them and changing the settings in-game only changed one, and I needed to change the other for the game to finally override the defaults, but there is no. I can't even find an "equip melee" bind in the settings that might have been C by default, I literally don't know where this came from. I swapped crouch to C, and for some reason every time I crouch or uncrouch with C, I pull out my melee weapon. Because Q was the original melee button, whenever I go in or out of cover, or just press Q out in the open, it also makes me melee. Whatever I set as custom binds in the settings doesn't actually override the original default controls, instead it just overlaps them.įor example, I swapped melee to V (would have preferred my extra thumb button on my mouse, but I guess this is now one of the two AAA games made in the past 15 years that doesn't allow you to use Mouse 4 and Mouse 5, the other game being Mafia 3) and cover to Q. I've come across a really infuriating bug: the keyboard bind settings are completely broken.
